UPDATE!!!!

Just to update you on Jon Luc's condition.
He is feeling much better. It has been a long and hard recooperation, though. The doctors say he will never walk by himself again...but, his hand has mended quite nicely, and he is completely without pain.
He is able to stand with help, but his legs are still a little wobbly. He is a determined little guy, though...his main concern has been to get back to work for the children who depend and beleive in him.
Sunday, we went to DJ's to visit Pierre Noel. They had a great time...and even got hair that day. That made Jon Luc feel soooo much better.
Pierre Noel gave us quite a start, when the kitten, aka Lydahlkit, pounced on him, knocking him over. He was fine, but he and Jon Luc wanted to stand on tables after that!
Jon Luc doesn't want any pictures of himself until he is completely mended. I respect that wish, and will publish one when the time comes. I think he will be well next week.
Thanks for all the cards and letters.
Picture to come later.

CSI: St. Joe

DJ and I went to dinner last night and left Jon Luc at home by himself. When we got back, we discovered poor JL on the kitchen floor. As far as we can tell, someone must have broken in while we were out and attacked him. He suffered a severe blow to his head and hasn't been able to speak, so we aren't really sure what happened. DJ thinks he may has tried to commit suicide when he saw the clothes he was going to have to wear...forever!...but I disagree. He seemed happy and content just before we left, and even posed for a few pics in his new beaded top. Now, does that sound like someone who doen't love life???

In addition to the concussion, the EMT told us he also received two broken legs and a fractured hand.

There ws one clue.....his left shoes was broken...almost as if his attacker was jealous of his clothing. His shirt was also pulled up in front, and his boa was almost torn from his body. This seems more like a "hate crime" to me. If any of you have information about this incident, please call the SJCC police immediately.

It seemes impossible, that in this day and age, there are still clay haters out there.

Please, people...don't let this happen to your sculpies. Help us catch the doer of this evil deed.

This is a picture of the crime scene.

Warning!! This may be too graphic for young children.

Santa in his undies

It's starting to look more like Santa now. This afternoon I began making his "outfit". I'm using an unusual color combination for a Santa....moss green...pink...and electric blue. I hope I didn't choose fabric that is too feminine....it has bling on it....and I am also putting some beaded fringe on the bottom of his shirt. *lol* He may end up looking like Joan Luc.

now I'm in Florida

I joined Barney for the weekend down in Florida. We were driving around, and came across this neat hotel. It has a beautiful golf course....and...well...the whole thing was just gorgeous!!! It is The Breakers

Oh...we were also fortunate to be in the "right place at the right time" to see the shuttle Explorer launch. Very awesome!!!

Santa Again

.........................................Now we are doing shoes and body. Next week we will begin to assemble him. I stayed up until 3 am Tuesday night because I will be out of town until next Tuesday afternoon, and won't be able to work on him. Our instructor told us to have all the pieces ready to go. *yawn*

Another Round

I met up with two of my oldest and dearest friends again this week. We had to play another rousing game of Nertz. It's becoming a tradition with us. First we met for lunch...then the game. Here is a picture of Patty giving Pam her congratulatory hug.

The Making of Santa

DJ and I are taking a Santa making class at the college. It is NOT for amateurs! *lol* Since we are amateurs...well...the results will speak for themselves. We're using Super Sculpey clay. Here is my skull after the first class. I think he looks like 3CPO. DJ's looks like Homer Simpson. Stay tuned....more to come....

Nebraska City

Took a day trip to Nebraska today with Barney's brother and wife. We went to a beautiful old mansion. The man who owned it, is the one that started Arbor Day. Needless to say...there were a lot of trees there. *lol* We were pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful place, so close to home.
Tiffany glass in the sun porch ceiling.(picture 3)
These plates were made for them...and say "Plant Trees" under the tree pic. Double click the picture to enlarge.
Oh...and btw...one of his sons was the one that started Morton Salt.

at the mall

DJ and I went to a sneak preview of the new East Hills Shopping Center. It is supposed to be finished by November. The organizers provided these for us to tour the mall with. Of course....we didn't! *lol* We just rode them around and around!

Memorial Day was Memorable

We drove up the coast over Memorial Day Weekend.
Stayed in San Luis Obispo, and then toured
The Hearst Castle.
After the tours, we drove a little farther up the coast and saw a bunch of people parked at a look out point.....so we stopped to see what was going on.
Turned out, it was a whole bunch of elephant seals.
Look at the last picture here. The whole beach was covered with them....just sleeping....
and smelling really really BAD!!! *lol*

The Hideaway

Our friends Craig and Glenna invited us to their place in Palm Springs this past weekend. Barney and Craig played in a golf tourney. Poor me....I had to sit by the pool all day...or mess on my computer while they were all playing. Just me.....and the dog. *lol* It was sooooo relaxing, but I did get sunburned!!!

Craig and Glenna dressed for dinner.
Barney and Craig had to relax after golf in the spa.

This is Rudy. He and I held down the fort while they were all gone.
Since he hung out with me all day long....he now smokes and drinks red wine! *lol*
